An essay, entitled:

When I first got him, I never thought I'd drop him. I was spamming him like crazy, like no character I had before. In the first month, two months, I easily had about 2000 comments as him. But, fast forward six more months... at some point, Akito/Agito stopped being easy to spam with, and I was neglecting him most out of all four of my characters I had.

What went wrong? I didn't want to drop him before I knew why it had gotten so hard to rp him, and finally I figured it out.

Air Gear is a series where the majority of the action, the majority of all the chapters, involve the characters fighting with their high-tech rollerblades. With Akito/Agito the only Air Gear character at camp, that meant he had no one to fight with. And with no Air Treck battles, more and more, it felt like however I played him, it'd be OOC, because he SHOULD be fighting, not just randomly commenting at people.

So, why not do an Air Gear event, pass out rollerblades to other characters and go to town? That wouldn't really work either: Akito is cute and friendly, but he knows nothing about AT. Agito is one of the best AT riders there is, but he's an anti-social bastard. Literally in canon, in the times they're not fighting, he's on the roof of a building by himself while the rest of the team is training. Refusing to get involved with a bunch of pathetic weaklings. (Until it suits his purposes to train them or they prove they're somewhat competent later, at least.) Thus, an Air Gear event... wouldn't be the most easy thing to run with just Akito/Agito at camp.

Once I realized that, and realized that it was getting hard to rp him with characters he'd already MET, I dropped him. He's great fun though, hopefully another air gear fan will pick him up. :x

How does everyone think I'm playing Akito/Agito at camp? Too quiet? Too open? Maybe too much favoring Akito over Agito...?

Or...

What's your impression of Akito/Agito given how I play them at camp?

Anonymous comments are fine...!

A post on Akito/Agito's sexuality.

Because these seem to be really popular nowadays!

1. So... what?

A: So... Oh! Great is a manga-ka who readily makes characters designed to be fan-servicey. Air Gear is no exception, and most if not all of the girls in the manga are very busty and shown in various states of undress regularly. That being said, Akito/Agito is a character who appears to be designed to, ahem, throw a bone to the yaoi fans. XD

2. You mean Akito's supposed to be gay?
Let's back up and take a look at some stats.

Akito/Agito's height: About 4' 8" tall. (Edward Elric is a LOT taller than this.)
Weight: About 86 pounds.
One of Akito's first moments in the canon: He grabs protagonist Minami Ikki and kisses him, in mid-air. In front of a lot of people he hasn't met before. He also has been referred to as "that transvestite" (probably a better translation would be "girly-boy") by at least one person.

That being said,

A: Well he sure as hell isn't supposed to be straight. XD
Seriously, there's no denying Akito/Agito definitely has 'yaoi stereotype' splashed over his character. That, and he's also clearly infatuated with the protagonist, Minami Ikki. They sleep in the same bed, occasionally bathe together, and have kissed a total of three times in the canon. Furthermore, it seems most of the time Akito is 'out' in Air Gear, he's either around, hugging, or clinging to Ikki.

Short of something akin to the OUT OF LEFT FIELD explanation suddenly given to Kio, Akito is gay, and in love/crushing on his Ikki-kun. ♥

3. So, all the males Akito's making friends with...

A: It should also be mentioned that apart from Ikki, he's never really shown interest in any other guys, past or present. (This could be attributed to that most Air Gear males are angry people who all gotta prove they're the "strongest," but. XD) So, I've been playing Akito as definitely affectionate (he's hugged more than a few campers randomly), but he's not a sort of person who tries to fall in love with anyone... even if it's obvious he really believes in love.

4. How does Akito regard females then?

A: This is a bit difficult to answer... he's just not shown interacting with them all that much. He clearly can make friends with females just as easily as males, but he's not as openly affectionate to them, nor does he particularly notice them. They're just sorta... there. I've been playing this sorta subtlely: while Akito might randomly hug and cling to males, he'll never do the same to females, and will probably be surprised if they do to him.

5. Okay, so what about Agito? Is it any different? It's two personalities in the same body, right?

A: ...Agito is a bit harder to figure out.
Agito distrusts everyone (except for Akito, naturally) and would probably hesitate to (if not flat out deny) call anyone else a "friend." He's probably only had one real friend his entire life, Udou Akira. (Who he does, apparently, get slashed with.) But, Udou Akira is clearly straight, and it's more or less clear that Agito regarded him more as a fellow comrade than anything else. Agito just... doesn't tend to get close to people. Thus, until something comes along to indicate otherwise, it'd probably be best to say Agito is "asexual" or "nonsexual."

6. So how does Agito regard females?

A. That's a LOT easier to answer. The time he deals with them, they're usually in his face talking about how cute his is, trying to hug him, or otherwise touch him. His reaction: pure and simple rage. He gets offended, shoves them away, and is outright repulsed. As a matter of fact, there's one scene later in the manga that has Agito injured and in the hospital, where he's treated by a very busty nurse who can't seem to help boobsquishing him. He hates every minute of being with her, and only tolerates it because he's, well, injured. XD

7. ...So why not declare Agito gay too and be done with it?

A. Besides that he never shows interest in anyone, there's an interesting thing to note. There's one other character Agito interacts with (the Iron Clock, Sano, for those in the know) that Agito clearly doesn't like. His choice insult for him is to call him a homo, and he only calls this particular character this. (Presumably, because said character tends to use the politer forms of Japanese language speech. Even though Akito also tends to be polite, it's more a "warm" politeness than using the very complicated grammar forms that denote polite Japanese.) Further complicating this issue is that Agito once calls him a homo to his face. Agito is wearing a full length wedding dress when he does this.

That said, I'm confused. XD Better to stick with "nonsexual" until Agito's similarly crushing on someone. Even if I will make the OOC joke: "Akito/Agito! Able to switch from 'innocent uke' to 'sassy uke' instantly! Two tastes in one!"

8. Is Akito/Agito a virgin?

A. He is only fourteen... so, I'd say yes. Besides that, Akito doesn't have the chance to form any relationships with other people before Ikki takes him away from his brother, really. (And I can't see Agito having sex very easily.) The only way he couldn't be would be to pair him with his older brother, an idea which doesn't exactly appeal to me. (Incest, noncon, ftw. x_x)

That's all. Nothing more to see here. XD

Random Facts about Akito/Agito

* Their condition isn't something they were born with.

* Akito's main crush is Minami Ikki. They sleep in the same bed and occasionally bathe together. Despite this, Ikki's attitude towards Akito is best described as "cautiously humoring him."

* Despite his tendency to yell and throw the word "fuck" around like crazy, it takes a lot to get an actual reaction out of Agito. He considers much of what happens to him and Akito with a calm head. (For example: switching to find himself wearing a dress Akito had been put in barely phased him.)

* ...however, one of the things that does phase Agito more than anything is people trying to be his "friend".

* Similarly, few things phase Akito as well. He rarely gets anywhere near "angry," and even then his reaction is to mostly go silent and not speak.

* Akito's favorite proverb is: "The frog at the bottom of the well knows nothing of the great ocean."

* Agito can remove the eyepatch. Akito presumably can't. What happens if he does it... that's a secret. XD

* Refers to himself and is occasionally referred to in plural with no hesitation. Both will respond to "Akito/Agito."

* While Akito/Agito's upbringing was mostly living in his brother's RV, his brother is clearly not penniless. He owns both a giant RV and a huge Hummer-like vehicle, for one.

* The straitjacket is largely a fake out. It doesn't affect Agito's fighting ability at all. Agito can also presumably free himself from it anytime he really wants to, and Akito can at least get his arms free if not get out of the actual jacket.

* The only japanese suffixes Akito tends to use are to add "-kun" to the names of males he likes.

* Agito not only never uses suffixes, he only rarely calls people by their name, with the exception of Akito. He tends to use humiliating nicknames, swear words, or both to refer to other people.

* Akito/Agito takes a little more after his brother than is first apparent. His brother also has a habit of saying weird quotes/references, and talking to himself in an internal monologue.

* If Agito gets hurt, he won't switch back to Akito until he's completely healed.

Akito/Agito Canon Info.

Not a lot of people are too familiar with Air Gear, so I typed this up to give a good impression of what sort of character Akito/Agito is. No spoilers.

Brief note: Air Treck - the high-tech rollerblades Air Gear revolves around that move on their own and let a person almost practically fly by wearing them. Akito/Agito's pictured in the icon.

Name: Wanijima Akito/Agito ("Wanijima" being the family name)
Meaning:
"Wani" - Crocodile
"jima" - Island (a relatively common ending for a last name)
"Akito" - The person who wrote it down afterwards (Incidentally, NOT the same kanji used for the Akito from Fruits Basket)
"Agito" - Jaws (I should note this is a pretty rare kanji to use)

Akito/Agito Shared Stats:
Age: 14 years old.
Blood type: AB (Taken from a random site: "People with Type AB Blood are said to have a delicate sensitivity. They are considerate of other people's feelings and deal with them with care and caution. On the other hand, though, they are strict with themselves and those close to them. They, therefore, seem to have two personalities: one for those "outside," and another for people on the "inside." They often become sentimental, and they tend to think too deeply about things. AB Types have a lot of friends, but they need time to be alone and think things through, as well.")
Height: 142 cm. (a little less than 4' 8" tall)
Weight: 38 kg. (Barely 84 pounds.) [Editor's note: Are those last two stats fucking serious? How waif-y can you get? XD]
Hair color: A sorta dark, silverish-blue.
Eye color: Amber [Editor's note: WTF, anime eye and hair colors.]
Often worn clothes: Straitjacket, school uniform, Kogarasumaru team jacket.
Telltale item: White gauze eyepatch. [Note: He's only seen wearing other various types of eyepatches in fanart and extra pictures that aren't part of the canon.]
Eye controlled by Akito: Left.
Eye controlled by Agito: Right.

Akito, Likes and Dislikes:
Favorite food: Kihachi Ice Cream (Note: Kihachi is the name of a restaurant that makes homemade ice cream, I've never actually tried it.)
Favorite animal: Birds, especially crows.
Best subject: Language (Note: Not a foreign language, Japanese.)
Type of underwear worn: Not telling!
Cats or dogs: Dogs. (They're kinder to people they like.)
Favorite color: Blue, green, and yellow.
Favorite band: Edison Lighthouse. (Note: This is an old 70's love song rock/folk band that was really popular in Japan, for some reason.)
Favorite comic: The Song of Wind and Trees. (Note: One of the first shounen-ai manga ever made.)
Favorite drink: Strawberry milkshake.
Often used phrase: Proverbs, said right when they're not expected.
Part of the body washed first in the bath: Head
Openly liked person: Ikki. (Note: The main character in Air Gear, Akito kisses him in mid-air when they first meet.)

Agito, Likes and Dislikes:
Favorite food: Blood. (Is this food?)
Favorite animal: Sharks.
Best subject: Physical education class.
Type of underwear worn: Boxers.
Cats or dogs: Cats.
Favorite color: Red.
Favorite band: Emperor, particularly their second album. (Note: I can only assume this means: "Godspeed, You Black Emperor!", a post-rock band.)
Favorite comic: Ring ni Kakero (Note: "Bet it all in the Ring," an 80s shounen boxing manga from the same person who created Saint Seiya.)
Favorite drink: BOSS Coffee Au Lait (Note: BOSS is a maker of can coffee sold in vending machines throughout Japan.)
Often used phrase: FUCK!! (Note: This isn't a translated Japanese swear word, but "fuck" written in phoenetic Japanese.)
Part of the body washed first in the bath: Left leg.
Openly liked person: ....

Akito, basic personality:
Young, cute, and naturally happy. Kind and polite to everyone he meets. Will often suddenly hug people (always male) who he likes. However, he has problems standing up to people, and rarely will do so, even if the other peron is being outright abusive. When confronted with emo, his response is to cry, but afterwards he'll go back to his naturally happy personality. He does not hide his true feelings or secrets very easily, and will frequently just blurt out random or otherwise sorta traumatic facts about his life (such as how his brother kept him locked in a cage). But, even if he is quick to trust, there is a side to him that gets shown only sorta rarely, and only to those he really trusts/cares about. Sometimes makes mysterious or cryptic-sounding statements.

Agito, basic personality:
Defensive, tough, direct, and borderline psychotic. Agito would rather yell at people than talk to them, and frequently does. He's generally suspicious and highly critical of everyone as well. Will often times just switch to Akito than lower himself to talk to someone, especially if the talk makes him uncomfortable or deals with something he doesn't want to talk about. The thing he cares most about is his own style of A-T stunts, though he doesn't particularly care what other people think about him. He loves to be in an A-T battle, and openly states he lives for being on the line between life-and-death, where everything can be won or lost in an instant. Despite this and his cruel method of fighting, he won't go up against a weaker opponent (considering it beneath him). However, he CAN soften up a tiny bit to people over time (reluctantly), and he isn't completely without mercy either. Still, "fuck" is his favorite word, and he uses it every other sentence.

Akito, fighting ability:
He doesn't have any. He has neither the desire nor the ability to fight. Ever. If someone attacks him, he'll just take it. (Though he may switch to Agito depending on the circumstances.) As for his normal Air Treck ability, he's shown skating and occasionally doing some simple jumping in the canon, but he himself says he has no ability to do any type of actual stunts.

Agito, fighting ability:
Agito is considered one of the "Eight Kings" of the A-T world: the "Fang King" who follows the way of the "Bloody Road," a style of A-T stunts focusing on inflicting wounds and scars on opponents, creating a "road" of blood a person can follow (hence the name XD). His A-T wheels are different from normal ones. Normally when A-T wheels are put on human skin, the result is a really bad friction burn, but Agito's are specifically designed to cut. Even when kicking with just the boot part, he's able to do it with a good amount of force. (This is a shounen series though, most wounds are gone two panels later. XD)

He also wears long straps with hooks on them attached to his jacket (straitjacket or otherwise) while fighting. These serve to catch a person by passing or circling them, and if the fight is over any height (as A-T battles usually are), they can be used to string a person up.

Agito does not KILL people he fights (he'd rather scar 'em, leave it as a memory of his ability), nor will he just attack unarmed people. He can also admit and recognize defeat when he is defeated, but that's rather rare.

Easiest/Most effective way to deal with Akito/Agito in a fight:
Agito is one of the strongest characters in his series, and moreover he enjoys fighting, but Akito is and does *not*. Akito cannot fight, in any way, shape, or form. Thus, the easiest way to deal with Agito is to say something to bring out Akito, thus ending any fight before it begins. This'll usually work if it's still a relatively calm situation, but at a time where its already begun and both sides have a high commitment to fight... less so. (Of course, physically changing the eyepatch's position will do it anyway. And it shifting on its own is another possibility.)

Akito/Agito's basic, as spoiler-free as possible, history:
Akito/Agito is the younger brother of Wanijima Kaito, a police officer known as the "Shinjuku Crocodile." He specializes in capturing and arresting A-T users. A-T users in general are viewed by normal society as a bunch of punks: they fight territorial gang wars with each other, are generally loud and scary, and frequently do property damage (especially to roofs) by practicing their stunts. (Sorta like how modern society views skateboarders.) His main weapon is a gun that shoots rubber bullets, and he also has some skill at A-T himself, to be able to keep up with the users he's trying to arrest. But his real weapon is his brother Akito. He frequently keeps Akito in a cage and a straitjacket, and will only let him out when it's time to arrest some A-T users. He'll always switch the eyepatch to call Agito out when he does this.

One day, Kaito sent Agito out to confuse an A-T battle between some riders, having him break it up by stringing up the leader of one of the teams and causing a distraction for Kaito to surround the area. However, his eyepatch wound up changing positions to Akito, who tried to warn everyone to run away. After this, Agito took back the body and went after Minami Ikki (who had pissed him off), tearing up the other cops in the way (including Kaito) and guaranteeing their escape while doing so. But, after hearing some words from Ikki about how it was sad Agito couldn't even find pleasure in just using A-T, and that he was clearly someone who had been locked in a cage without the ability to feel the freedom of the blue sky, Akito came back out, and kissed him.

From then on, Akito/Agito started living in the same house as Ikki. Kaito came back to try to capture Akito (and even got him back in the cage,) but Ikki stepped in and saved him. After this, Akito told his brother: "Brother!! I... no, rather, WE! We don't want to help you arrest A-T users anymore! Because... we love it with all our heart!"

The nature of Akito/Agito's eyepatch switching:
When the eyepatch is over the right eye, Akito is "out" and controlling the body. When the eyepatch is over the left eye, Agito is "out" and controlling the body. They will switch depending on the situation, but there's generally four ways this happens:

Akito switching to Agito, Akito's decision: How Agito usually comes out. Akito will usually say: "Oh, Agito's saying he wants to tell you guy's something..." and switch the eyepatch, having Agito come out. Clearly done in a calm way, and both sides are conscious of it happening.

Akito switching to Agito, Agito's decision: A somewhat rarer variation. The main difference is that there's no transitional phrase said by Akito, he just does the eyepatch switch and starts talking. Usually when Agito wants to say something a bit more civil.

Agito switching to Akito, Agito's decision: Most often used when Agito doesn't want to talk to someone, he just switches the eyepatch in the middle of a line he doesn't want to listen to. Akito's usually surprised by this.

Agito switching to Akito, Akito's decision: A bit more rare. Either something is said or something happens that makes Akito want to come out and say/observe something.

And a few more examples of eyepatch switching:

Uncontrolled Switching to Agito: This is seen with Akito's brother Kaito switches the eyepatch to Agito and tells him to go after a group of punks. Akito doesn't put up any resistance at all when this happens. It's assumed this happens the most when Agito is being told to get in a fight, and he'll probably be somewhat disappointed/angry at being called out for no reason if there isn't one.

Uncontrolled Switching to Akito: This is seen when Ikki takes Agito's eyepatch (from behind) and switches it before he notices. It'd be safe to say that unlike Akito, Agito would probably try to resist this happening to him. Akito is surprised when he realizes what has happened, but otherwise unaffected.

Accidental switching: Sometimes Akito/Agito will fall down or get knocked around a bit, and the eyepatch will just happen to switch. This is generallly resisted by both of them, if only because it tends to happen at inopportune times.

Akito/Agito, cross-personality communication, links, and opposition:
Generally speaking, Akito/Agito do have some "shared consciousness," meaning that while one personality is clearly "out", the other personality is also watching and can comment/talk to the other internally. But they also clearly have instances where only one of them is out and the other isn't conscious at all. It varies on the circumstances.

Likely to have shared consciousness in: Talking to random people, doing something the "out" personality isn't exactly concentrating on doing at the moment.

Likely not to have shared consciousness in: The middle of a fight, during any particular activity the "out" personality has planned on doing or is especially concentrating at accomplishing.

Inter-personality Opposition/Resistance:
Akito/Agito RARELY come into opposition with each other, and even then, usually not directly. There's one instance in their first appearance where the eyepatch begins to switch and Agito says: "No! I can't give the body back to Akito now..." but he doesn't clearly state why. (The obvious answer though is of course: he's in the middle of a fight. There's all sorts of reasons he wouldn't want to. XD) However, this isn't from any resistance originated from Akito, so it doesn't really count.

Aside from this, it's clear there are times when the "out" personality is doing things the other would really rather they not do. However, there's no instances of them fighting over the eyepatch position or anything of the sort. Agito, when he's out, does what he wants. And Akito, when he's out, similarly does what he wants. Thus, Akito/Agito actually have a very stable "system" where they (practically) always give each other consideration, even if they are near opposites and want to do different things most of the time.

Discussing the personality thing:
One thing is that neither of them like to just announce: "I've got a split personality." Akito likes to try to get a judge of people's intelligence by just letting them figure it out on their own. But he will, if questioned directly and patiently, eventually give out details that explain everything.
Agito's a lot less likely to reveal it unsolicited, and there's no canon instance of him doing so. Nevertheless, he'd probably be a lot more direct about it if he could be convinced to reveal it all. He canonically refers to Akito/Agito's state of being as: "two personalities in the same body."

And... I think I'm done for the moment. Hopefully this was coherent.

Relationship list!

Okay, I'm going to start working on this NOW before it gets to be too huge for me to attempt. XD

Akito:

Canon Relationships [outside of camp]

Ikki: Akito's crush and "special person." Loves him after he rescued him from his brother, and again after defending him again after he came looking for him. Is probably the one person in the world Akito really trusts. Lives in the same house with him after being rescued in canon.

Kaito: Akito's older brother. Kaito is responsible for a lot of bad things in Akito's life... but despite this, Akito can't bring himself to hate him, or stop him when he starts abusing him. Was resigned to being his "pet" until rescued by Ikki.

Camp Relationships

Tomo: Talked to her once. A bit surprised at her resistance to the "if you like someone, give them HUGS!" idea.

Chizuru: Met her and traded names! They didn't really talk or get the chance to do much else. XD

Ikkaku: Recognizes that's he angry, and bald.

Anya: Agrees with her camp really isn't that bad.

Buffy: Was grateful for the s'mores he got from her.

Cher: Has gotten the impression she's under a lot of stress, but has only met her once.

Allen: Met while he was in Youji's body. Thought he was very nice, and took the opportunity to play with his catears. 8D
Update: Met him while in his normal body, and he became the second person Akito hugged at camp! Likes him lots now. :D

Kon: Met him while he was upset at Miri. Doesn't understand why he'd respond to someone like that, and is worried because he himself barely knows what's going on too... Update: Talked with Kon, and while they didn't really discuss the time before, he got new reason to be optimistic of him.

Near: Responded to his poll about campers, and has gotten the impression Near must be a pretty smart person.

Lady: Doesn't know her name yet, but had a talk with her while she had catgirl features. XD

Carrot: Has become relatively good friends with him rather quickly! Was offered a chance to be let out of the straitjacket by him, but declined. Is sorta ignoring the fact (and thus the emo around) the fact he's a police officer.

Etna: Was one of the first people he met at camp, and was surprised when Etna told him she was at least a thousand years old. Had to be told she was a demon. XD

Da Qiao: Thinks she's very sweet and that her cooking is great! 8D Was fed by her when he was hungry.

Ying: Was the first person he met at camp! Isn't sure what to think of her kittens, but thinks she's nice.

Sun Ce: Met him and struck up a good friendship rather quickly. Is the first DW character he's really grasped is from "the past," but thinks that cool because he can tell him about "the future".

Simon Tam: Was impressed by him because he was the first to notice the "double personality" thing out on his own, and referred to it in medical terms.

Fletcher: Met while he had the age virus, and thus won't recognize him now that he's back to how he was. XD Was the first person to get a sorta-direct answer to the split personality question through patient and direct questioning.

Nishi: Akito isn't sure what to think about Nishi for the moment. He get's the impression he's smart, but also a little dangerous. Has resolved not to think too much about it.

Kira: Met him, but not sure what to think about him yet.

Mirialla: Met her, and "defended" her from being chewed out by Kon. Doesn't really have an opinion about her yet though.

Zim: Met him, but didn't even have a chance to go "what's wrong with this kid?" Is one of the few people he's referred to himself in plural to though. "We don't stink!"

Emilio: Thought he seemed friendly until he started making sexual innuendos and startled him. Changed into Agito in front of him with nary a regret.

Gwendal: Told him about his cute catboy experiences at camp so far. XD

Youji: Met him while he was in Allen's body, and got yelled at by him. Is armed with the knowledge he might like having his ears fluffed. 8D

Naruto: Has met twice. Thought he was friendly and kind, but no real opinion beyond that.

Ari: Received all sorts of advice from him, and Akito likes him a lot for it! Has been the only person Akito's hugged at camp so far.

Ash Ketchum: Another instant friend! He likes pikachu lots too! He won't eat any food from him though, as per Ari's advice.

Kodachi: Met, but sorta gave the wrong impression about himself (being rich) to her, he thinks. "It's true I did move into a bigger place recently, but my previous place was like, four by four feet big, and circular shaped, made of iron." Has gotten the impression they're from different worlds (standard of living-wise), but is trying to ignore that.

Ranma: Thinks he's got bad ideas about how to show affection re: Akane.

Akane: They met, and he thought she seemed nice, but hasn't really thought much beyond that about her.

Death: Was one of the first people he got advice from, but hasn't realized she's... Death.

Delirium: Met her for a few seconds and thought she was cute. Received a candle from her.

Lex Luthor: Met, and had a philosophical discussion with him. A bit perplexed by his ideas of "becoming stronger"... he can't disagree with it in theory, but trying to think of good examples for it makes his head hurt.

Glinda: Gave her the advice he received from Ari! Thought she seemed pretty nice.

Zatch: Borrowed his marbles and promised not to lose them. Also explained his eyepatch and its function to him, sorta. Update: Third person for Akito to hug at camp!

Rosalyn: Has a good impression of her, because she was nice and didn't question at all switching right in front of her.

Rin: Met her deaged, and knows her as Sohma Isuzu. Thought she was very cute, though a tiny bit disappointed she wouldn't draw him when he asked.

Norma: Performed an A-T stunt for her! Is also kinda happy she gave him a nickname, it's the first time someone's called him by one.

Haruhi: Get's the impression she's not quick at figuring things out, because she was completely and totally confused by Akito talking about Agito until he finally switched in front of her. But, he really likes her overall attitude and thinks she's really fun and cool.

Summary for Akito:

High affection for: Carrot, Allen, Ari, Ash, Zatch

High opinion in general of/grateful to: Simon, Kodachi, Buffy, Da Qiao, Norma

Is cautious of: Lex Luthor, Nishi

Has a "low" opinion of: Emilio

[note: I say "low" opinion because it's very difficult, maybe impossible, to get Akito to actually hate/dislike someone.]

Agito:

[Note: I could give impressions for Agito for everyone Akito has met as well, but I'm deciding to keep Agito's listed relationships as people he's actually talked to while "out," not just impressions he's formed while Akito has been talking.]

Canon Relationships

Ikki: The fucking idiot crow. Thinks he's incompetent and quite possibly the worst A-T user he's ever seen, even if he is starting to be a little surprised by him as his skills begin improving. Still, he'd rather die than admit that. There's something about Ikki that sets him off when they first meet... But even then, Agito refuses to regard him as anything more than another idiot.

Kaito: It'd probably be best to say they have a weird sort of "business relationship." Kaito needs Agito to grind "criminals" up, Agito's more than happy to oblige. Agito also finds amusing the sort of irony that Kaito is possessive/abusive to Akito while also fearing Agito. Still, he has no regard for Kaito beyond that, and will happily tear him up too just as easily.

Camp Relationships

Ikkaku: Hates him for being a fucking moron and playing with his eyepatch. But meeting Ikkaku DID give him an ego boost, as he clearly found out about Agito because of what he did to Natsuo. Wouldn't mind carving some nice scars into that bald head of his.

Simon Tam: Thinks he's a pretentious bastard and refuses to talk with him.

Nishi: Has picked up Nishi's much more knowledgable than he lets on. Thinks he's a psychotic bastard, but whatever... so's he. Nickname: Mr. Sly Grin.

Emilio: Perverted bastard.

Natsuo and Youji: Tried fighting Natsuo after taking one of his remarks a little personally, but gave up when he realized they couldn't feel PAIN. (Like hell he's gonna fight someone who's not going to have the courtesy to at least wince, that's just insulting.) Thinks all catboys/catgirls are pain-unfeeling because of the experience.

Gan Ning: Actually felt a little guilty that Gan Ning got bitched out by Sun Ce for exchanging insults and not giving them the chance to settle things themselves, but also didn't care enough to correct him.
Updated: After a talk with him again, has come to the conclusion: "This guy's a fucking idiot... my kind of idiot, though." Nickname: Bell-boy.

Sun Ce: Picked up he thought he was Akito, didn't bother to correct him either. (Let the fucker figure it out for himself...)

Delirium: Met her, and got mildly freaked out. Has gathered she's not to be fucked with too much.

Rosalyn: Has a cautious/bad image of her because he switched right in front of her and she barely noticed (Obviously hiding what she thinks and can't be trusted). Was mildly surprised to hear about people at camp with 'genocide-level' powers from her. Update: Rosalyn earned his ire when she accused him of "possessing" Akito. The results of their fight has only more so set him off-balance.

Rin: Talked to her when she was deaged for about a second before deciding Akito would probably be better at talking to a little girl. Fuck.

Norma: Hates her for talking Akito into near-injuring himself for her amusement, even if she did heal them and Akito did want to do it. X(

Cher: Received coffee from her. Had an actual almost civil conversation with her. Could probably careless about her, of course, but first time that's happened, really.

Haruhi: Was a bit intrigued by her. She's probably the first female to ever react to him with: "don't tell me what to fucking do". (At the very least, the first ordinary seeming schoolgirl with apparently no fighting ability to do that.) Suspects she's either capable of more than she lets on, or is just that much of an idiot (leaning towards "idiot"). Update: Haruhi has grown on Agito to some extent. She's probably the easiest person he can talk to, or at least the person he can talk to the longest before leaving in disgust or having it turn into a volley of swearing. He hasn't even realized that his opinion of her has gone up (he probably would've stopped if he did).

Summary for Agito:

Has a "high" opinion of: Nishi, Haruhi

Neutral: Gan Ning, Cher, Lupin

Genuinely off-set by: Delirium

Hates/Thinks is a fucking retard: Everyone else

Burning hatred for: Rosalyn

[note: I say "high" opinion because it's very difficult, maybe impossible, for Agito to actually have respect for anyone.]

Canon explanation/introduction!

Air Gear

A shounen series released by Oh! Great (that's the nickname he goes by XD). He also created Tenjou Tenge.

Air Gear is very much a shounen retard series, and it follows many cliches of the genre (you can find more than a few similarites to his other work Tenjou Tenge too, in terms of plot structure). Kids fight using high tech rollerblades and try to become the strongest. However...

In volume 4, Akito/Agito was introduced. Agito being a sorta "Gaara-esque" character (ie: "I live to fight and hurt things and I'm supremely awesome at doing it, fear me,"), and combined with Akito (a very innocent <s>uke</s> character) by way of a split-personality.

Although at first it seemed Akito/Agito would have a sorta smallish role, Akito/Agito's popularity was overwhelming. Just about a volume and a half amount of manga after being introduced, Akito/Agito completely dominated a "Favorite Character" poll for Air Gear. They earned first place with 3234 votes. By comparison, second favorite character (Ringo) took 2470 votes. ...And third place (Ikki) took 2444 votes. (Difference between 1st and 2nd place, almost 800 votes. Difference between 2nd and 3rd, less than fifty.) Oh! Great seemed to have hit the right combination of "cute" and "badass". XD

Such popularity has at least insured Akito/Agito won't be killed off anytime soon, as I'm quite sure Oh! Great doesn't want his own fans to lynch him.
App post!

Character: Wanijima Akito/Agito
Series: Air Gear
Character Age: 14
Canon: Air Gear is a story where high-tech rollerblades called Air Treck have been invented. Using advanced motors and suspension systems in the wheels, Air Treck allow any person with enough skill to virtually fly through the air, turning the entire sky into a road to show off on. Air Treck (A-T) enthusiasts form street gangs and wage small territorial wars, all with the aim of becoming stronger, competing in races, and claiming the title of "Sky King," in typical shounen manga retard fashion.

Wanajima Agito/Akito is an A-T user with a split personality. He wears a white eyepatch at all times. When this eyepatch is covering his left eye, Agito is in dominance. Certifiably insane, he cares only about victory over anyone he deems a suitable opponent, and the carving of scars on his/her body with his own brand of A-T stunts. He lives only for the feeling of being in a life-or-death struggle, and anything else is not worth his time. (If you don't want a few expletives yelled at you, at the very least, get out of his way, quick.) However, when the eyepatch is covering his right eye, Akito is in dominance. Akito is cute, innocent, and sweet. He forms easy attachments to people, and does his best to be free and easygoing, even when wearing the straitjacket usually put on him to help contain Agito. Although both are generally glad to be in dominance of the body, if they get into a situation they don't know how to handle (or, in Agito's case, just don't want to deal with talking to another idiot), they'll switch the eyepatch themself to call the other one out. Another person taking hold of his eyepatch and changing the position also causes Akito/Agito to switch personalities.

Akito/Agito was forced to help hunt other A-T users for the police for an unspecified amount of time, sometimes being literally kept in a cage when he wasn't needed. But, he was eventually freed by Minami Ikki and joined his A-T team.

Sample Post:
Ah, hello, happy people!! My name's Wanijima Akito and I'm an evil morning person! I'm here, well, more Agito's here, for a special training assignment! You know how it is! It's all to help us get stronger, I think. But I don't know much about that. I guess sometimes getting stronger just means putting yourself through a lot of shitty things when it's cold and lonely. I think Agito'll come around to liking camp eventually, I love it already! The zombies make great training partners, you just give 'em a light push and they fall right over! Though, sometimes they try to grab my eyepatch, then Agito comes out, and I lose all the friends I just made. Well, like the old saying goes: "the servant waits while the master baits."

...So, can anyone show me around? Where do we get to sleep? I hope it's with somebody cute! (Agito's thinking the same thing!) And don't worry, I'm still wearing the jacket! Even if Agito comes around wanting to taste some blood, you shouldn't have any trouble running away. Air Trecks don't get very good traction on dirt, tree branches, and old body parts anyway. Living body parts are another story, but even when Agito likes to draw on people's bodies, he never tries it on the parts that're still supposed to be inside the person. "The world is my canvas! And its blood my ink!" he says. I go to tell him he won't be able to make a very interesting painting using only one color, but when I try, he always just sighs and talks about how no one understands him. I can't understand his "genius," I guess.

Ooh, I think the view of those cute little kidneys interested him. One sec!

...fuck, Akito. Don't tell these idiots our life story. Especially not your strawberry-shortcake version of it.

To the point, I'm Wanijima Agito. Unless you're into A-T, undoing nice straitjackets from normal boys, and/or getting your head ripped off, just don't fucking talk to me and we'll get along -just- fine. --You don't know what A-T is? Fuck, I'm dealing with an assload of retards. ...and Akito wants me to explain Air Treck and all the fun races to the nice people. Ugh, fine. We can have our own little short-bus version of an A-T match right here. It's a simple game: everyone runs around like a chicken with its fucking head cut off, until someone manages to BRING ME SOME FUCKING COFFEE. Whoever does it first gets to choose which limb they're gonna lose! Fuck this. Let Akito deal with this shit.

But in case a certain shithole we call an A-T captain is reading this? When I get out of here, the only thing left of you that anyone will ever find will be the brand new asshole I tore you, and the several choice farming implements I used to make the hole! -FUCK- you and your "training"!

Agito's so silly. You couldn't really leave nothing behind of a person except a hole, could you? A hole's defined by what's around it, so...

[Voting post here.]
